Quét virus cho toàn bộ các ổ đĩa là một công việc rất tốn thời gian, đến nỗi nhiều người không thể thực hiện được vì máy bận làm việc suốt, còn những lúc tạm nghỉ thì không đủ lâu để cho chương trình antivirus thực hiện xong việc này. Nay đã có giải pháp mới là quét virus tiếp nối mỗi khi trình screen saver chạy với chương trình Avast Antivirus. Không những thế, Avast Antivirus còn là một chương trình chống virus rất mạnh, được các trang web phần mềm như Softpedia, Download.com đánh giá 5 sao.
Các chương trình bảo vệ màn hình (screensaver) với nhiều bức ảnh sặc sỡ chạy qua, bay lại thật ra lại có hại cho màn hình của máy tính nhiều hơn là bảo vệ nó. Lý do là vì nó bắt màn hình phải xử lý tín hiệu nhiều hơn lúc bình thường. Mặt khác, khi bạn không dùng máy mà máy chỉ chạy screensaver không thì quả là uổng, phải chi lúc đó máy bạn tự động quét virus thì hay biết mấy, nhất cử lưỡng tiện. Mặc dù bạn vẫn có thể kích hoạt một chương trình quét virus nào đó khi không dùng máy, nhưng bạn lại không thể làm được điều đó cứ mỗi năm phút một lần và không thể dừng rồi lại quét tiếp cứ sau mỗi mười phút. Tuy nhiên điều nay đã trở nên dễ dàng hơn với phiên bản mới nhất của Avast Antivirus mà ngoài việc cập nhật các loại virus mới nay còn thêm tính năng tự quét và bảo vệ màn hình khi không có người dùng máy.
Thiết lập các tùy chọn
Sau khi tải về và cài đặt, chương trình đề nghị bạn nên khởi động lại chương trình để nó quét virus, bạn chọn No hoặc Not Now tùy phiên bản Professional hay Home Edition hoặc phiên bản khác. Sau đó bấm phải lên biểu tượng quả cầu hình chữ a màu xanh trong system tray. Chọn Start Avast Antivirus, chương trình sẽ khởi động và kiểm tra các chương trình đang chạy trong máy, bấm phím Stop Memory Test
1 cửa sổ hiện lên, bạn bấm chuột vào nút có hình tam giác hướng lên, chọn Schedule Boot time Scan... Trong pop-up mới, chọn Scan archive files > Advanced options > Delete infected file và chọn Allow delete or move. Bấm Schedule để xác nhận chọn lựa.
Bảo vệ màn hình
Bấm chuột phải lên desktop, chọn Properties, thẻ ScreenSaver, dòng ScreenSaver, bấm vào hình tam giác và chọn lệnh Avast antivirus. Bấm phím Settings. Trong Starfield, chọn loại kiểu bảo vệ màn hình mà bạn thích - ví dụ Marquee. Chọn thêm Loop scanning và Scan for viruses. Bấm tiếp phím Settings. Mục Position, chọn Random. Thanh trượt Speed nên kéo về phía tốc độ chậm nhất, để dành bộ nhớ cho Avast Antivirus làm việc. Phần Text - bạn viết lời ghi chú nếu muốn. Nếu cần thay đổi font chữ và màu sắc của nó, hãy bấm phím Format Text và chọn kiểu chữ. Bấm OK để xác nhận chọn lựa.
huyển qua mục Area, bấm Add, thêm vào đó CD-ROM, DVD, All Media, Memory, Auto start program, Auto start program All users. Mục Types, chọn Content và Scan all files. Chọn Advanced configuration, sau đó chuyển qua mục Virus - bấm phím And. Ngay lập tức phía sau chữ Choose action sẽ có thêm chữ And, bạn bấm tiếp phím Delete... > OK. Chọn tiếp phím If failed, và Repair... > Remove all macros > OK. Chuyển qua mục Packers, chọn All packers. Bấm OK lần cuối để xác nhận chọn lựa. Sau đó bạn quay trở lại màn hình chính và ấn định thời gian đợi trước khi quét là 5 phút. Bấm OK lần nữa và khởi động lại máy. Bây giờ máy bạn sẽ được bảo vệ kể cả những lúc bạn ngưng không làm việc.
Avast Antivirus chính là chương trình quét virus duy nhất hiện nay trên thế giới có khả năng quét trước khi máy boot và quét khi máy ở trong tình trạng nghỉ với ScreenSaver. Mặt khác, Avast còn có ưu điểm hơn những chương trình khác nhờ khả năng chạy ổn định, tốn ít tài nguyên.
