Đây là phần mềm shareware giá 34,99 USD của hãng TuneUp Software GmbH (bản xài thử trial dùng trong 30 ngày có tại , hiện nay đã có bản 2008).
Bạn cũng có thể tìm nó trên các đĩa CD phần mềm tổng hợp. Nó tương thích với các hệ điều hành Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP. TuneUp Utilities 2008 giúp bạn tối ưu hóa tốc độ của PC với giao diện khá thân thiện và rất dễ sử dụng. TuneUp Utilities 2008 tập hợp nhiều tiện ích nhỏ nhưng hữu dụng, được chia thành năm nhóm lớn theo từng công việc khác nhau: Customize & Analyze (tùy biến và phân tích), Clean up & Repair (dọn dẹp và sửa chữa), Optimize & Improve (tối ưu hóa và cải thiện), Administer & Control (quản lý và điều khiển), File recovery & Destruction (hủy bỏ và khôi phục file).
Mục Cusomize & Analyze gồm các tiện ích:

- TuneUp System Control: giúp bạn tối ưu rất nhiều thứ cho Windows, bao gồm giao diện, Network Communications, User logon, ổ đĩa cứng, bộ nhớ và cache (bộ nhớ đệm)...

- TuneUp Icon Engineer:

- Thẻ System Icons cho phép bạn thay đổi các biểu tượng trên Desktop, Start Menu, Drives, Folder, Files và một số biểu tượng khác trong tùy chọn Other, bạn chỉ việc chọn biểu tượng cần thay và nhấp Change Icon sau đó Browse đến icon mình thích và nhấn OK là xong.

- Thẻ Drives and Folders cho phép bạn thay đổi biểu tượng của riêng từng ổ đĩa thư mục mà mình thích, cách làm tương tự như trên.

- Thẻ Appearance cho phép bạn thay đổi tùy ý kích thước của các biểu tượng trong Windows.

- Thẻ Repair có chức năng nạp lại các biểu tượng được Windows hiển thị không đúng bằng cách nhấn nút Reload Icons giống như với Tweak UI của Microsoft.

- TuneUp StartUp Manager: giúp bạn quản lý dễ dàng hơn các chương trình được nạp khi Windows khởi động bằng cánh đánh dấu chọn (hoặc bỏ trống) vào các chương trình được liệt kê từ Startup folder và trong Registry trong cửa sổ của chương trình.

- TuneUp System Information: hiển thị các thông tin về hệ thống của bạn bao gồm các mục như:

- Overview (thông tin chung về bộ xử lý, bộ nhớ, card đồ họa, màn hình, thiết bị ngoại vi).

- Windows, Display, Memory, Drives, I/O Devices, Communication, System Device, Performance.
Mục Cleanup & Repair gồm có:
- TuneUp DiskCleaner: quét toàn bộ các ổ cứng giúp bạn dọn dẹp các file rác, thư mục rỗng, file liên kết rỗng. Cách thực hiện: bạn chọn ổ đĩa cần dọn dẹp và nhấn Next bốn lần liên tiếp sau đó nhấn Finish.

- TuneUp Registry Cleaner: giúp bạn dọp dẹp lại Registry chỉ bằng mấy cú nhấp chuột đơn giản. Cách thực hiện: bạn nhấn Next chờ cho chương trình quét registry xong chọn Show errors và nhấn nút Start Cleaning. Windows Registry của bạn sẽ được dọn dẹp sạch sẽ.

Mục Administer & Control gồm có:

- TuneUp Process Manager: hiển thị các Process (chương trình nền) đang chạy xem chúng ngốn của bạn bao nhiêu bộ nhớ. Bạn có thể đóng những chương trình không cần thiết giúp giải phóng RAM, bằng cách chọn process và nhấn nút Terminal Process.

- TuneUp Registry Editor: một công cụ giúp bạn thay đổi và tìm kiếm trong registry giống như regedit của Windows nhưng an toàn hơn. Chức năng Rescue Center giúp bạn backup lại hệ thống trước khi diễn ra sự thay đổi trên.

Mục File recovery & Destruction gồm có:

- TuneUp Shredder: rất hữu ích nếu bạn muốn xóa đi những file hoặc thư mục mà sau đó sẽ không thể phục hồi lại được chúng bằng bất cứ cách nào. Để thực hiện, bạn chọn Files hoặc Folder sau đó nhấn Next chọn Add và chọn file hay thư mục cần xóa trong mục Repeat the delete operation bạn chọn số lần xóa file hay thư mục đó (tối đa là 99 lần) sau đó nhấn Next và chọn Yes.

- TuneUp Undelete: giúp bạn phục hồi lại các file đã lỡ tay xóa mất. Để thực hiện, bạn chọn ổ đĩa và nhấn Next, nhập vào tên file đã xóa, chọn Next và chờ cho chương trình tìm kiếm xong và thể hiện mức độ phục hồi được của file, (bạn nên chọn những file ở tình trạng Good), nhấn kép vào file cần phục hồi và chọn OK.

Chú ý: với mỗi thay đổi ở từng mục của TuneUp Utilities, nếu nó có làm cho hệ thống bị lỗi, bạn có thể khắc phục bằng cách chọn Rescue Center từ màn hình chính và chọn Undo Changes, tiếp đó chọn lại những thay đổi đã làm và bạn nhấn Restore, hệ thống của bạn sẽ trở về trạng thái bình thường.

Mục Optimize & Improve gồm có:

- TuneUp MemOptimizer: hiển thị thông tin về bộ nhớ đang sử dụng, bộ nhớ còn thừa và đặc biệt còn có thêm chức năng giải phóng bộ nhớ một cách tự động hay khi bạn ra lệnh bằng cách chọn thẻ Manual Optimization và nhấn Clear Now.
- TuneUp SystemOptimizer: tối ưu hóa PC của bạn theo từng tác vụ cụ thể. Về Internet, bạn chọn Internet Optimization trong mục Wizard. Nếu tối ưu cho toàn bộ hệ thống, bạn chọn System Optimization, sau đó làm theo hướng dẫn trên màn hình và nhấp chọn Next để tiếp tục. Chúc bạn có một hệ thống ổn định với TuneUp Utilities 2008.

The files are also reorganized in an intelligent way so that Windows and frequently used programs or games will launch substantially faster.
